No more orange stains or rotten-egg smell.
Iron, manganese and sulfur are common in PA, NJ and DE wells. The IronMax treats them where water enters the house.
How it works
Air does the work.
The IronMax draws a pocket of air into the tank. Iron, manganese and sulfides oxidize on contact and are trapped in the manganese greensand bed, then washed to drain when the iGen valve backwashes. No chlorine, permanganate or other chemicals are added.
Because well water varies so much, we size and configure the IronMax from an in-home test of your well.

Inside the IronMax
Treats the problems wells are known for.
Iron and manganese
Oxidized and filtered out to help prevent orange, brown and black staining in sinks, tubs and laundry.
Sulfur odor
Hydrogen sulfide, the cause of the rotten-egg smell, is oxidized by the injected air and filtered out.
Chemical-free
Air injection and manganese greensand do the treatment, with no chemical feed to refill.
iGen valve
The 1-inch iGen control valve runs the backwash cycle that refreshes the air pocket and cleans the bed.

Common questions
Do I need a water test first?
Yes. Iron, manganese, sulfur, pH and hardness levels change from well to well, and they decide whether the IronMax fits and how it is set up. The in-home test is free.
Does the IronMax soften water?
No. It treats iron, manganese and sulfur. If your test also shows hard water, we'll tell you what that means for your home before you decide anything.
Does it use chemicals?
No. It uses injected air and a manganese greensand bed.
Why is it a special order?
The IronMax is ordered for your home after your well test confirms it is the right fit, so allow extra lead time before installation.
Does it treat bacteria?
No. Bacteria in a well needs its own test and treatment plan. We recommend a certified lab test for bacteria.
How much does it cost?
We don't list prices online. You get a written quote, including installation, after your free in-home test.
